Fixed Limit Billabong

This is a game where the highest poker hand wins.

It is played with a short deck where all cards 2-5 of each suit have been removed.

Game Play


Round 1

  • Each player pays an ante.
  • A big blind, and typically a small blind are paid by the players to the left of the dealer.
  • Each player is dealt four cards, three cards: face-down, one card: face-up.
  • There is a round of betting, starting with the the highest poker hand.

Round 2

  • One card is burned.
  • Three cards are dealt to the table, face-up.
  • There is a round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

Round 3

  • One card is burned.
  • One card is dealt to the table, face-up.
  • There is a round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

Round 4

  • One card is burned.
  • One card is dealt to the table, face-up.
  • There is a round of betting, starting with the player to the left of the dealer.

Winning the hand


At the end of the hand, the highest poker hand wins.

  • Each player must form the best poker hand from at least six cards of their hole and any of the remaining nine cards in their hole or the table
  • Aces are always high

Betting


  • Each player may check, call, bet or raise, as their chips allow.
  • A raise needs to be as least as large as the last bet.
  • Each round of betting is at a fixed limit.
  • There is a maximum of three raises per round.

  • Royal Flush
    • Royal flush
  • Straight-Flush
    • Cards of the same suit and in sequence.
  • Quads
    • Four cards of the same rank.
  • Flush
    • A set of cards in all in the same suit.
  • Full House
    • Three of a kind and and a pair.
  • Trips
    • Three cards of the same rank.
  • Straight
    • A set of cards in consecutive sequence.
  • Two Pair
    • Four cards, with two pairs of cards of the same rank.
  • Pair
    • Two cards of the same rank.
  • High Card
    • Kickers
