Stud Roll Your Own Hi/Lo 8

This is a game where there are two pots. In the first pot, the highest poker handIn the second pot, the lowest poker hand, using cards only cards Eight and below. wins.

It is played with a standard poker deck of 52 cards.

Game Play


Round 1

  • Each player pays an ante.
  • Each player is dealt three cards, face-down.
  • Each player exposes one card.
    • The selected cards are exposed as soon as each player takes their turn.

Round 2

Round 3

  • Each player is dealt one card, face-down.

  • There is a round of betting, starting with the the highest poker hand.

Round 5

  • Each player is dealt one card, face-down.
  • Each player exposes one card.
    • The selected cards are exposed as soon as each player takes their turn.

Round 6

  • There is a round of betting, starting with the the highest poker hand.

Round 7

  • Each player is dealt one card, face-down.
  • Each player exposes one card.
    • The selected cards are exposed as soon as each player takes their turn.

Round 8

  • There is a round of betting, starting with the the highest poker hand.

Round 9

  • Each player is dealt one card, face-down.
  • There is a round of betting, starting with the the highest poker hand.

Winning the hand


At the end of the hand, there is a hi-low split pot.

For the first pot, the highest poker hand wins.

  • Each player must form a poker hand from five out of their seven cards
  • Aces can be high or low

For the second pot, the lowest poker hand wins.

  • Each player must form a poker hand from five out of their seven cards
  • Aces can be high or low
  • Straights and flushes are ignored.
  • Only cards Eight and below play.

Betting


  • Each player may check, call, bet or raise, as their chips allow.
  • A raise needs to be as least as large as the last bet.
  • Each round of betting is at a fixed limit.
  • There is a maximum of three raises per round.

High Pot hands:

  • Royal Flush

    • Cards of the same suit and in sequence.
  • Quads
    • Four cards of the same rank.
  • Full House
    • Three of a kind and and a pair.
  • Flush
    • A set of cards in all in the same suit.
  • Straight
    • A set of cards in consecutive sequence.
  • Trips
    • Three cards of the same rank.
  • Two Pair
    • Four cards, with two pairs of cards of the same rank.
  • Pair
    • Two cards of the same rank.
  • High Card
    • Kickers
